Interior Design and Metropolis Custom Video Guidelines

Learn how to prepare for your custom video with best practices, content guidelines, and submission requirements.

After your media plan or contract is finalized, our project management team will create an intake form for your video and email you a due date along with upload instructions. Custom video productions are developed in creative partnership with the Interior Design or Metropolis video team. These productions are filmed on site and tailored to your space, people, and story, with the Interior Design or Metropolis audience in mind.

📑 Assets required for your intake form

To complete your intake form, the following assets and information are needed: 

  • Goals: press release, creative brief, or reference materials that help define the story, message, or objectives of the video
  • On-camera personalities: identify names, titles, and areas of focus for each participant who may appear on camera
  • Location: address(es) and any relevant access notes for filming locations

🔗 Guidelines regarding content and scheduling

After reviewing your intake form, our video production manager will share available dates for a pre-production call and potential film dates. The pre-production call is a collaborative planning session held with the production team and, when applicable, the Interior Design or Metropolis editor. Any creative or brand stakeholders who need to weigh in on concept, messaging, or logistics should attend.

Recommendations for film day:

  • Filming may occur during business hours
  • Locations should be clean, staged, and camera-ready
  • On-camera participants should plan for brief downtime between setups

📈 Key Performance Indicator (KPI) and reporting

Impressions: 100k+ social media plays

Your final video lives on the DESIGNTV platform for 1 year. Additionally, DESIGNTV will actively promote your segment through either the Interior Design or Metropolis social media platforms to ensure it meets its guaranteed KPI. Following campaign completion, your Client Strategist or Sales Director will provide performance reporting.
